After the first coordinating meeting in Copenhagen on January 27, Lead Partners finalized the work plans for 2006 in their respective work packages and first working group meetings have been scheduled for spring 2006.
In 2006,
- the first topic for the core HTA structure development will be chosen and ready for applicability testing (Work Package 4)
- HTA adaptation to new settings toolkit will be developed (Work Package 5)
- the structure for the HTA and transferability to policy study will be established (Work Package 6)
- overview of the existing tools to monitor emerging health technologies in Europe will be completed (Work Package 7), and
- a review of the HTA orginsation characteristics (Work Package 8).

The first project deliverables to be available already in 2006 are an organisational structure for a European Network for HTA – including a supporting Secretariat, and a generic methodological HTA framework based on current best practices (Core HTA Structure).
On May 11, 2006, the EUnetHTA Steering Committee (comprised of Associated Partners in the project) will meet in Copenhagen to discuss working strategies and adopt 3-year project work plan.
On June 29, 2006, EUnetHTA will launch its official website.
On July 3, 2006, EUnetHTA will hold a lunch forum “EUnetHTA – European Network for Health Technology Assessment: Work in progress” at the HTAi Conference in Adelaide, Australia.
